The brief
A ballroom with limited ceiling load and an overnight build between two hotel operating days. We needed a truss structure with clean cable routing plus lighting for stage, lectern and room that can be changed on request during the day programme.
Equipment used
- Truss structure with planned rigging points and load distribution
- grandMA3 compact as the console in control
- LumiNode for DMX on trusses and room positions
- Luminex GigaCore network between control and stage
- StageSmarts distribution with short cable runs to the positions
- Motorola radios for control, stage and technical management
Outcome
The build was finished by breakfast and the room was free of loose cabling. Changes between talk, panel and evening programme were run from the console, with no work on the rig.
